FAQ
Where are you located?
Art Party’s in-studio programs operate out of a private residence in Glencoe. Our dedicated studio space is 1300 square feet with 9-foot ceilings, giving us plenty of room to create. We have 3 studio rooms available, as well as a covered outdoor space when weather permits. We also offer all of our programs with a mobile option, where we will come to you.
What is process art?
Process art is a form of artistic expression that focuses on the creative journey rather than the end result. It emphasizes the process of creating, exploring, and experimenting, rather than focusing solely on the final product. In process art, the act of creating becomes a meditative and transformative experience, allowing artists to delve into their intuition and embrace spontaneity. This approach encourages freedom, curiosity, and playfulness, as artists are encouraged to explore various materials, techniques, and ideas. Process art celebrates the unique and individualistic nature of each artistic endeavor, inviting viewers to appreciate the creative process itself as a work of art. It challenges traditional notions of perfection and instead embraces the beauty of imperfection and the joy of self-discovery.
How does Art Party cater process art to toddlers and kids?
Process art allows children of all ages to express themselves freely, experiment, and develop their creativity. At Art Party, we provide a safe and stimulating environment where children can freely explore without worrying about making a mess. We are a YES space for everyone! We select materials that are safe and suitable for each age group. We foster creative expression by offering open-ended prompts that allow children to take the lead. At every step, we reinforce that the journey is more important than the destination. We celebrate the entire process, from the first stroke to the final texture.
We develop our classes and workshops to ignite creativity and engage you every step of the way. We are here to encourage individuality and imagination. Our mission is to foster creativity through connection and fun!
Can adults enjoy process art too?
Artistic expression knows no age limits, and process art offers adults a unique opportunity to unleash their inner thoughts, emotions, and creativity. At Art Party, we provide process art experiences dedicated to adults — from craft nights to moms’ night out. Unlike traditional art forms that may have strict guidelines or techniques to follow, process art celebrates experimentation and creativity without limitations. This artistic approach enables adults to try new materials, explore different techniques, and push the boundaries of their creativity. Embracing experimentation in process art allows adults to break free from routine and discover new ways of expressing themselves artistically. We design our classes to ignite creativity and the hope is that you will carry that energy with you in everything you do. Creating a more engaged and connected experience.
Can siblings take our Party Animal - messy toddler playgroup together?
Our classes are created for you to connect and explore with your child by following their lead. We recommend one adult to each child attending. If you are interested in signing up siblings but only one caregiver is available to attend the classes, prior approval is required. Due to our classes selling out so quickly, we recommend reaching out prior to sign up day.
Can infants attend with an older sibling?
Up until 4 months an infant can be worn in a baby carrier facing in toward the caregiver at all times during the class. Due to space, strollers are not allowed in the studio. A waiver must be signed for the baby attending prior to the start of class.
If a baby is over 4 months old, prior approval is required and will be on a case by case basis.
How long are the celebrations?
Our celebrations vary in length. We recommend including at least 1 add on to your celebration. Think of us as the entertainment. We come in, set up (which takes on average 90 minutes). Then we provide the creativity (parties can be between 60-90 minutes). We will begin our breakdown and clean up (which takes on average between 30-60 minutes) while you finish your celebration however you choose.
Decorations
For our celebrations you are welcome to decorate!
Mobile Parties: You know we love getting creative! Please decorate however you choose, as long as we have the space needed for the project.
In-studio Parties: We love adding to the art room. Please let us know ahead of time what you are envisioning for decorations so we can approve ahead of time as space is limited. Depending on the decorations, we may ask that you bring them 72 hours prior so we can properly prepare.
We provide white tablecloths for the tables we use for the project(s).
We do offer upgrades. Please let us know at the time of booking if you would like to learn more.
The birthday family is responsible for the tablecloths you will be using for food, gifts etc. Thank you!
